*5:30am- 60 minutes of Tone to the Max class- COMPLETED* *6:30am- 30 minutes of elliptical- COMPLETED* ** We had a new instructor for class today. Oh. My. Gosh. We did this thing called a pyramid today. In the process of doing this pyramid I did 154 push ups and 154 crunches. OUCH. Double ouch. Not on the crunches, I have a pretty good stomach I could have kept going, but the push ups...oh my gosh. We eventually kept going on the various crunches. It was a good ab workout today. I just counted the reps in a different ab session and I did 180 various crunches (bicycles, toe touches, heel taps, and suitcases) in that section. We did squats AND lunges. And sprints on the track. I'm going to be sore tomorrow. It's Employee Appreciation Day at work today. It is torture for a gal trying to watch what she eats. So far I have been a good girl, abstaining from the donuts provided for breakfast. Let's pray I make it all day! *TODAY I LOVE*: my pretty pretty Ann Taylor shoes (even though they hurt my feet) and the fact that I get to wear jeans today for Employee Appreciation Day! -- http://www.sarahthequeen.com

  • All in All

I think sometimes that we just need to be thankful for the small things. Today I'm stressed. Very stressed. I'm playing with my hair and pulling it out, I'm eating everything in my sight, and I've got some serious heartburn (I always get heartburn when I'm stressed, it doesn't matter what I eat.) Anyway, I as I was sitting here contemplating the content of this post I realized that I need to not focus on the stinky part of my day, but to try to reflect on the good parts. Maybe if I do that that the stinky parts will become less stinky. Here is a list of all the good parts of today: - It's Friday! Hooray! I don't feel I need to explain the importance of that one! - I'm running a 5K tomorrow with Ry and that makes me excited with anticipation. - I'm also excited about the anticipation of getting my exercise and diet regime back on track. This week has really screwed me over. I need the "start over" feeling I always get on Monday mornings. My running partner Lex's favorite day of the week is Monday. I never understood that until recently...she always looks at it as a fresh start. I'm going to clean my slate of this week and not think about all the crappiness of my diet and exercise beginning on Monday. A plus to keep me on track, Ry is completely with me on this. He feels awful too because of lack of exercise and nutritious food. We've both been topsy turvy this week. I don't know why one week's worth of failure makes me feel like a complete failure. Anyway, good things are going to happen! - I'm happy thinking about the good times I had last night playing Mario Kart on the wii with my friends. Super fun! Thanks again Jessica for lending us your extra steering wheels, remotes, and the game! You saved us from renting it! We had a fun time. I got to play with toadstool. Happy times. - It's stopped raining! Finally! Rock on! - What I'm most happy about today is still yet to come...I get to come home to my husband and two cats and have a nice evening at home. Ok, that makes me feel better. Since we are cutting all spending full-stop I'm excited about planning out our menu for the entire week. I've got some more research to do to make sure I get all the right things! *TODAY I LOVE*: the peek of sunshine through the clouds and the fact that my two cats played hide-and-seek together last night. Too cute. -- http://www.sarahthequeen.com

  • Seaside Rendezvous

I'll bet you thought this was a workout blog, huh? :) Well, it's supposed to be, but I've just taken a week's hiatus. I'm running a 5K this weekend with my husband so that will be a good workout. I'll get back on the wagon soon. Stay tuned... Homework last night went a lot smoother. I think maybe I might be getting the hang of it. I had homework and a test last night. I did perfect on the homework but got an 85% on the test (I missed two questions.) Boo. I don't have any worries though. There is extra credit I can do so that I can keep an A in the class. My next homework assignment is due on Tuesday so I'll have a few days to get it completed rather than just an evening. That makes me really happy. I am so excited. Tonight Ry and I are going over to our friend's house to play Mario Kart on the Wii. A co-worker of mine loaned me the game, 4 steering wheels, and both of their remotes so that all 4 of us can race tonight at the same time!! I absolutely cannot wait. I only have two requests for tonight...I want to use one of the cute round steering wheels and I HAVE to race with toadstool. He's my favorite! It's so cool that we can all play at the same time. Callie was a sweet baby last night. We had some good cuddle time after we put George Carlos to bed. Callie is such a snuggle cat. George Carlos will * let* you pet and snuggle him if it's right after he wakes up from a nap...any other time and you are just his toy to play with. I got some fantastic new scratches on my legs from Mr. GC this morning. He was so ornery. *TODAY I LOVE*: playing Mario Kart on the wii and getting to kiss my husband again (I miss you, babe!) -- http://www.sarahthequeen.com

  • Wake Me Up When September Ends

Another morning and no workout. This morning there was actually a reason, well, two reasons. I had to take my pretty new car into Nissan this morning to get serviced. It's time for the oil change and general checkup. I also wanted them to check my tire. Yesterday the low tire pressure light came on and I am petrified of airing up my tires. No, I'm not just being a girly-girl...I had a tire blow up in my face about a year ago. It's frightening! My super nice co-worker Matt took my car to air up the tires and found a screw in my back tire. He took out the screw and plugged it (again, SUPER-nice co-worker). My car had to be at the dealership by 7:30ish, so I wouldn't have had quality time to workout this morning. The second reason for my non-workout- nasty tornado storms last night. I was taking shelter in the closet with the cats at 12:30 this morning! I didn't get back to bed until 1:30am and it was after 2:00am before I fell asleep. Boo. *Anyway...*I hope, hope, hope to get a good workout in tonight. I did a short little 1 mile run last night just to get away from the computer. I spent 2 and a half hours on homework last night. Yikes! I did get a perfect 10 points for my work, but still...that's a lot of time. It was 2 and a half hours on only 7 questions!! I'm going to be an accounting guru by the time I'm finished with this class. It looks like we're getting ready to get more storms. Boo. *TODAY I LOVE*: learning new things and good friends who help me through my bad mood (thank you M and A!) My new Runner's World came in the mail! -- http://www.sarahthequeen.com

About Me

  • I am a marathon runner. Gosh, do you know how cool it is to finally say that? I'm a runner, a lover, a musician, and card making fiend, I am an avid reader with a wide variety of tastes in writing, I'm a hopeless romantic that still cries during movies. I am very impatient in traffic and get really frustrated when people cut me off. I like to drink smoothies and sit in the park and read gossip magazines about the celebrities. I'm a good listener and like to think that everyone's thoughts, feelings, and opinions are just as important as mine. I'm married to a wonderful man that I met in college and I can't imagine life without him. He's a top-notch musician with a heart of gold and loves me to distraction. We've lived and learned a lot together and God has blessed me richly with him and his family.
